Central Flying School
The Flight Simulator Section currently consists of two flight simulators, one for fixed wing and the second to be based on rotor wing simulation. Simulator #1 is a state-of-the-art, life-size Piper-type cockpit custom-built to incorporate Logitech hardware and a computer simulation interface. The simulator is currently configured to mimic the Piper Cherokee, Warrior, or Arrow for a wide array of performance training and exposure to complex systems. The simulator has intercom communication capability for standard aviation headsets. The simulator can also incorporate ForeFlight. The Foreflight interface reads the data feed as if it were an actual flight, recording all the simulated data for playback and review, simulated logbook time, and all the features popular with ForeFlight. This acts not only as a great review tool for training and performance but also teaches the student how to manage these systems. Additionally, the sim has a Garmin 650 that incorporates IFR training processes and can act as an instrument rating training sim.
