About the Redeemed Flying Corps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is simple: to assist individuals in pursuing airmen and aviation mechanic certifications with the goal of meeting critical shortfalls in missionary and general aviation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four out of five people who begin to learn to fly never finish. In 2018, the military stated they were short 2,000 pilots in the Air Force, 700 in the Army, and 400 in the Navy and Marine Corps. Commercial aviation was short of over 4,000 pilots. In two decades, the shortfall will widen by 20% more. To complicate matters, the cost to obtain just a basic pilot license is currently around $12,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our recruitment goal is 25% General Aviation recruitment and 75% Mission Aviation. As hard as it is to recruit pilots, there is almost no effort dedicated to filling missionary pilot cockpits. Most mission aviation organizations are currently short 30-40% on pilots. This means that even if they all stay flying with no breaks, they are still about 10% empty in the cockpits. Mechanics are just as critical. A great many of the sending mission organizations use these aviation services to get their missionaries to remote locations. Their impact is tremendous \u2014 but that work virtually stops when the pilots run out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why the Redeemed Flying Corps was established. We chartered the organization with an impressive board of directors (aerospace engineers, Law Enforcement Pilots, Pilots, Flight Instructors, an accountant, a retired & former military, a pastor, and a former congressman). The national organization is headquartered in Oklahoma City. Our Central Flying School operations are conducted in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The RFC chartered the No. 1 Squadron at First Southern Baptist Church of Oklahoma City with support from many area churches. We have the structure to charter new squadrons and replicate the effort. In the RFC, we are volunteers who use our skills for the Kingdom. By doing so, we have cut the expense of pilot training by about 50%. By building a state-of-the-art simulator at our Central Flying School, we have also shaved about 20% off the time it takes for students to solo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our students range from 17 to their 50s. Our operations include fixed, rotor Airframe & Powerplant paths of instruction as well as ground instruction. All our pilots have been able to learn to fly through the generosity and time of others. Our long-range vision is to produce Pilot, Mechanic, and Paramedic individuals that can be used for Kingdom work on the mission field, in the military, or for local mission support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is an ongoing operation with an eternal impact. Whether you have a passion for promoting General Aviation or branch into Mission Aviation, the organization has something for you. Nearly all the funds we have raised go to supporting the flight and mechanic training, aircraft, and other associated costs. We are truly giving of ourselves to make this happen. The Redeemed Flying Corps is a federally certified 501(c)(3) and licensed as a non-profit association in the state of Oklahoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Board Members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Air Board is the RFC Board of Directors. The Air Board has all the rights, powers, privileges, and limitations of liability of directors of a non-profit corporation organized under the Non-Profit Corporation Act of Oklahoma. The Board establishes policies and directives governing the business and programs of the RFC and delegates to the RFC Commander (Executive Director) and RFC staff, subject to the provisions of these Bylaws, authority, and responsibility to see that the policies and directives are appropriately followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
